Erica Torok has been a driving force in the hip hop community for 15 years. Her unique dance experiences, and her post secondary studies has given her an individual perspective on hip hop dance, musicality, and art of teaching.

Erica began competing in Edmonton in 2003. After training in funk styles, party dances, and choreography with many of LA’s leading choreographers, she began working professionally in the industry. Erica’s longest residency was at 3rd Street Beat studios in Edmonton teaching competitive numbers. It was with 3SB crew that she toured China for 30 days with the all hip hop show “Hip Hop Saved my Life” in 2008. Later in 2013, Erica competed with the crew in Montreal at nationals, and represented Canada in Las Vegas’s “Hip Hop International” Adult division.

Other work throughout her career includes: Adjudicating at “Surrey Festival of Dance”, choreographing for Edmonton’s “The Singing Christmas Tree”, the Edmonton Eskimos Cheer Team, the Eskimo half time show with Damian Escobar, and performances with Kiki Ireland, at K-Days, Edmonton’s Feats Festival, charity events, birthdays, and weddings.

Erica credits her unique musicality, and movement not only from her dance experience, but from her post secondary studies. Erica has a diploma in Music Technology and Jazz Studies from Grant MacEwan, a Bachelor of Music, and a Bachelor of Education with a Physical Education minor from the University of Alberta.

Erica created I.M.E to promote confidence and creativity within the dance community. She promotes professionalism, passion, and having fun in all of her classes!
